The academic calendar is subject to change without notice. In preparing the calendar for an academic year, it is impossible to avoid conflict with some holidays. As conflicts arise, efforts are made to make special arrangements for students affected. |
PRACTICUM x INTERNSHIP
In practicums, learners closely watch a professional complete task like counseling patients and recommending treatments. In internships, student to work more independently. These learners report to supervisors, but they may perform duties without a supervisor's presence. |

GRADUATION & DIPLOMA
All HLCU - SOFIA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY with no academic or financial holds on their student record, will receive their diploma at the end of their course. Diplomas are issued to graduates after the Office of the University Registrar completes the degree conferral process (awarding of a degree once it is determined a student has met all degree requirements for graduation).

All diplomas include the official University Seal, as well as the signatures of the current University President & President of the Board of Trustees.

CONFIDENTIALITY & RECORDS
Educational records are kept by university offices to facilitate the educational development of students. Faculty and staff members may also keep informal records relating to their functional responsibilities with individual students. As part of the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the University has a policy on Confidentiality of Student Records. The University has also developed related policies that concentrate on the use of institutional data and computer and network security.
HLCU/SOFIA is committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of the student's Social Security number. The Social Security number is requested at the time of degree application to the University but is used in a very limited and controlled manner. The primary student identification number used to conduct University business is the HLCU/SOFIA ID, which is assigned at the time of first affiliation with our University.
